Thanksgiving 2020

Thanksgiving 2020. A year that has left us dazed and confused. A year that has left far too many struggling to make ends meet, to feed families and pets, to pay bills, to keep business afloat. Tragically, a year that means some of us will miss and mourn loved ones. Our hearts ache for those who are hurting. In lieu of gifts this holiday season, Paul and I are giving to amazing groups who do so much to help those in need. Thank God for the selfless people who put themselves out there, even in the face of a deadly pandemic. www.feedingamerica.org

Since it’s my industry, I want to acknowledge a few wedding related things I’m thankful for. Thankfully my husband’s brother went ahead and got married a few days ago, taking his vows behind a glass door, separated from his bride while he recovers from a milder case of covid. Thankfully my husband’s nephew got married last month in a park and the few in attendance stayed healthy. Thankfully nobody got sick from the September minimony at our house. These three weddings were not what they were “supposed” to be, but you know what? Thankfully, they all were amazing in their own way!

Bentley can’t decide if he likes the blue shoes or the ivory shoes better. The white silk clutch can be dyed to match either pair. All of this is available in The Outlet Shop.

So, what comes to mind every Thanksgiving? Food of course. Turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing, pumpkin pie and the rest of the feast. Let’s all pitch in so there’s enough to feed the long food lines forming around the country, if you can, to help our fellow Americans out. What else is synonymous with Thanksgiving? Black Friday. The day after Thanksgiving when stores normally start seeing a profit as holiday shopping kicks into full gear. Like 2020 weddings, holiday shopping won’t be what it’s “supposed” to be. Experts are saying a lot of it will be online (smart and safe) rather than crowding into shopping malls. Shopping online from the safety of your home will protect you, your family and our fellow citizens, and help get the pandemic under control while we await the vaccines.

We started our Stair Step Sale in mid-October, with 20% off. Each month the savings increase. November gives you 30% off everything in The Outlet Shop. And for December, get the most for your money when everything in The Outlet Shop is 40% off. You’ll find great deals on earrings, bracelets and hair accessories. Jewelry is always a welcome gift. And of course, the shoes in The Outlet Shop are included in the sale! If your wedding is in 2021 or 2022, take advantage of these savings now. If you’ve got your eye on a pair of our regular salon collection, they’re 15% off through the end of this year. The more money saved on purchases we must make means more money available to help others out during a rough time.

My friend, Laura Jayne, is also having a sale of her gorgeous bridal accessories. You’ll see a few of her pieces in The Outlet Shop, but check out her full sample sale inventory on her site. www.laurajayne.com

Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving this year. Some will be alone. Some with only one other person. Or with pets. Maybe Zooming, maybe not. Whatever your circumstances, we’re all in this together, so even if you’re by yourself, just remember … you are not alone.
